I have always been very enthusiastic about minigolf, and tried many different courses, both on Bornholm and in the rest of Denmark, but especially large minigolf facilities in Spain and the USA have made an impression on me. I got the idea for a mini golf course shaped like Bornholm while I was studying tourism economics in Rønne in the late 1990s. At first it was just a silly thought, but I became more and more sure that the idea could become a reality and in the autumn of 2010 I bought the plot at Gudhjemvej 27 – right opposite Bornholm’s second largest tourist attraction, Østerlars Rundkirke.

The first application was sent to Bornholm’s regional municipality BRK in February 2011, they quickly pre-approved a land zone permit and then drawings, calculations and financing had to be sought.

It was a wonderful spring, Thomas joined the project, so it all turned into love and mini golf. Unfortunately, the whole economic situation in Denmark in 2011 was quite uncertain and we could not raise the financing and the project was shelved. In 2013 we took up the project again, we got all the approvals from BRK, but the banks still said no and once again the project was shelved!

In the fall of 2015, we put the property up for sale and had decided to forget about the project! In the years before that, we had had a lot of lovely children and good permanent positions, but the idea of ​​a Bornholmerpark kept nagging at me! The house was also almost sold in May 2016, but here we looked at each other and completely agreed that we wanted to try to follow our dream.

Since then, everything has gone incredibly quickly, the financing and new building permits fell into place, Thomas quit his job and on 1/10 2016 the 2nd phase of our adventure began, the establishment of BornPark.
The building process has flown by, we have worked around the clock at times, it has been fun and exciting all the time. But also unnerving, never before have we read so many weather forecasts.

Now it is with the greatest joy and pleasure that we, on 25 May 2017, can welcome you to BornPark Minigolf – A world of Bornholm.

Dear Guest

Five seasons have now passed since we first opened BornPark Minigolf.
We have been visited by many happy miniature golfers, families on tour, school classes, pensioner associations, young couples, local and foreign guests.
Thank you for 7 wonderful, fun, busy and really exciting seasons.
